The record

  1. 01

    Scope

Refurbishment of Level 3 at 143 Edward Street for the Queensland Catholic Education Commission. The design by m3architecture wraps alternating semi-circular walls around the heritage beams.

  2. 02

    How we delivered

The heritage listing set the constraints. Existing walls were sealed and restored in place. The heavily bowed heritage floors were kept, so every joinery height was made adjustable with custom doors and floor levelling. The fragile float glass to the external faces was protected and re-jointed. With no cranage to a third floor, materials went up by hand, and the programme was planned around it.

    Outcome

A heritage office floor restored and refitted to a high standard inside 20 weeks, under tight access.
